June 2014

Your village needs YOU!

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of WW1, the village of Clanfield will soon have a permanent new war Memorial and Garden.

The Clanfield Parish Institute, partnered with Horndean Technology College, began construction in April and we would now like to invite you to the unveiling and dedication of the first phase:
on Saturday 28th June 2014
at the Memorial Hall, South Lane, Clanfield
at 10:30 am

Time capsules prepared by HTC, Clanfield Junior School, Petersgate Infant School and other village organisations will be placed inside the new memorial on the day, and a dedication by Cannon the Revd Dr. Gill Hill will take place at 11:00 am. Music and drama will be provided by students from HTC. In the Memorial Hall itself, there will be a display of material showing events involving Clanfield and details of those who served. This will be open until 3:00pm and refreshments will be available.

We hope you will be able to join us.
